You may be familiar with the craze for 'escape rooms' where you're locked in a room and must solve a set of clues to find the key to the exit door.
Here at WWMHS we've gone one better - we've put the room in a boat - and launched the boat on the River Cleddau!
Solve the 1st clue as the murky waters start to lap around your ankles then find the elusive key to the escape hatch before the boat sinks forever......
Just kidding - apparently there were Health & Safety issues with our first game design!!
So, yes, you will be 'locked' in a boat, with clues to solve (many of them with a nautical theme) but the boat is firmly moored on the riverside where you can hear the lapping of the waves - but we promise your feet won't get wet.
Our Escape Boat was conceived as a fun way to involve people in our charitable maritime heritage endeavours, and raise funds to support the work. Our boat is a Norfolk Broads cruiser which we renovated & converted for our purposes. The escape scenario & clues were devised by our members working with students and other volunteers. We are grateful to PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services) and the Heritage Fund who have supported this project.
