Code Red!   Code Red!

The UK's First Escape Boat
Solve the clues before you sink!!

You may be familiar with the craze for 'escape rooms'?

You're locked in a room and must solve a set of clues to find the key to the exit door.

Here at WWMHS we've gone one better - we've put the room in a boat - and launched the boat on the River Cleddau!
Solve the 1st clue as the murky waters start to lap around your ankles then find the elusive key to the escape hatch before the boat sinks forever......
Just kidding - apparently there were Health & Safety issues with our first game design!!

So, yes, you will be 'locked' in a boat, with clues to solve (many of them with a nautical theme) but the boat is firmly moored on the riverside where you can hear the lapping of the waves - but we promise your feet won't get wet.

£30 for a group of up to 4 people.

By the way, 'Code Red' is a military/nautical term for 'Emergency' e.g. fire, saboteurs, espionage, sinking boat.....!!

How It Works

  • at the moment, we are running 3 time-slots on Saturdays: 9:30, 12:00, 14:30
  • use the form below to tell us your preferred time-slot
  • we'll get back to you to confirm your time-slot
  • then pay for your booking using the Paypal option below (or pay by debit/credit card)
  • THEN... we'll meet you at the boatyard at the agreed date/time and give you the 1st clue - then it's Code Red!

Booking Enquiry

  • tell us when you'd like to come, i.e. which Saturday and which time-slot (9:30, 12:00, 14:30)
  • give alternatives if you can
  • we aim to provide a quick response by email

Confirm Booking

  • once you've received our email confirming your time-slot then please pay via Paypal
  • Paypal also accepts debit/credit cards even if you have no account
  • the price is £30 for your party of up to 4 people
  • you will receive confirmation emails from Paypal & from us, then you'll be good to go Code Red!

Useful Info.

  • allow at least 80 minutes for your visit - 15 mins. for an intro, 1 hour to Escape, 5 mins. for review/feedback
  • you can of course visit the museum whilst you're here
  • checkout our 'Visit Us' page for directions & parking etc.
  • in winter, wear warm clothes as the boat doesn't have central heating!
  • wear stout shoes, e.g. trainers, as you'll need to cross a stony yard
  • it's a working boatyard so be aware of moving boat trailers, ropes & chains etc
  • please be aware there are 4 or 5 steps onto the boat and no provision for wheelchairs - apologies
  • our Society is run by volunteers so we are unable to offer a real-time 24x7 booking system; we monitor our Escape Boat email account frequently & aim to respond within a few hours, but please allow up to 48 hours for a response; we hope you understand we are not a commercial Escape Room company
  • please note, your booking is not confirmed until you have received an email from us after your payment
  • if you have any problems or questions with your booking then please contact us at escapeboat@wwmhs.org.uk
Thankyou for supporting our work here at WWMHS and we hope you have a great time in the Escape Boat.
Remember: Code Red - emergency - be prepared for anything - even sea serpents!!!

A Little History

Our Escape Boat was conceived as a fun way to involve people in our charitable maritime heritage endeavours, and raise funds to support the work.  Our boat is a Norfolk Broads cruiser which we renovated & converted for our purposes. The escape scenario & clues were devised by our members working with students and other volunteers. We are grateful to PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services) and the Heritage Fund who have supported this project.
